Sun 14^th November: Potteric Carr

We have seen many changes since our last visit to Potteric Carr. For those wishing to walk all or most of the reserve (which is very large) it is best to take a sandwich or visit the café. We shall meet in the car park at 9.30 a.m. and for non-members the entrance fee is £2.50. To get to Potteric Carr, leave the M18 at jn 3, take the A6182 (Doncaster) and turn right at the first roundabout watching for the Potteric sign.

 

Sun 7^th December: Whiston Meadows

We shall meet in the Whiston Meadows car park on Long Lane at 9 a.m.  Long Lane is the road to Treeton off West Bawtry Road between Whiston cross roads and the Rotherway.  In the event that Long Lane is still closed we will meet on Chaff Lane, Whiston, behind the Sitwell Arms.

Oct 28th 10a.m. Maltby to Roche Abbey.

Park on the A634 in Maltby opposite the War Memorial (SK533915). The walk is through Norwood to Roche and back (about 3.5 miles).

Nov 25th 10a.m. Langold Lake.

Meet in the country park car park (SK581865). This is west of the A60 in Langold. Turn into the housing estate opposite Hilltop WMC and follow signs.

Dec 16th 10a.m. Rother Valley CP

Meet in the nature reserve car park. We will have a 3-4 miles stroll round the park. As usual I hope to arrange a Christmas lunch in the golf club house. I will require knowing who is dining nearer the date.

Everyone is welcome to join in these enjoyable walks. We usually see over a hundred species of birds each year as well as other aspects of nature.
